Having a lunatic be the nominee for a party isn't a good thing even if you don't like that party. I'd like someone with a decent head on their shoulders as the opposition for two reasons. One, the Democrats aren't completely and unquestionably right about absolutely everything and someone needs to hold them accountable in a national campaign. Two, there's the slight, ever so tiny, really concerning chance that the Republican candidate actually wins.
