I came to Calgary in July 69...and yep thats much the way it looked to me...the City grew exponentially huge in the boom of the 70s early 80s....much the same as it is changing now.

64th ave NW on centre steet was the city limits on the north...Midnapore was still a 15 minute drive outside the city to the south...airdrie was a small town that was a good 45 minute drive away...silver springs was just getting started in the NW I think...deerfoot hadnt even been started yet, i used to gopher hunt where it is right now...the NE development was in its infancy, I dont think it was much beyond 32nd ave at that time. Huge differences.
