Thanks plugin installed on this forum. Instead of making meaningful contributions, people tend to make quips hoping the CP hivemind will agree with them. Then others come along scanning for thanked posts only to add their own thanks, ignoring any other post that is longer than a paragraph. It turns a lot of arguments into a yo momma contest, where the goal is to side with the majority of the forum, gathering the most thanks.
Often when I see a highly thanks post, this comes to mind:
