Last week, on HNIC, they were talking about the new regulations for goalie equipment that are likely going to be implemented next season. It sounds like the plan is for the equipment to be a lot more form fitting and contoured to the player's body.
Hrudey said that most goalies are in favour of the changes because they believe that the current standards are out of hand, and have leveled the playing field too much. Higher skilled goalies don't have the advantage that they should.
He said a guy like Quick welcomes the changes because they will favour more athletic goalies over pure butterfly puck blockers. It seems to me that Hiller will be one of the players most negatively impacted by the changes, if they're as drastic as they sound.
