So now, we have the Saudis committing to front funds to commit the pretext, and the US foots the bill plus the soldiers lives needed to go in and oust a yanno... Like really bad guy in Saddam, when it turns out he had NOTHING to do with anything.

Mission accomplished: New puppet in power, our strong ties with OPEC errrr the Saudis are still strong and... Profit! Now anyone who questions the official narrative is an #######, and we should defer all trust to the govt. Doing otherwise would be a gaffe in submission to authority, and we can't have that now can we?

I think it was more the Bush administration taking advantage of the situation rather than creating it. Well they did create the phony WMD after the fact but that didn't have anything to do with 9/11.
