To summarize, what the US gov't was found guilty of was creating the circumstance that allowed MLK to be assassinated (getting the US gov't to admit fault within it's own justice system is no small feat), factor in that this happened in an era where most of the prominent black civil rights leaders ended up dead or in jail, plus the US gov'ts rich history of treating it's black citizens like disposable human garbage and it paints a pretty clear picture of what happened to MLK.
As long as it is easier to act behind closed than it is to act in the public domain, human beings will conspire.

That's all bunk. Complete bunk. The government wasn't found to have done anything.
It was a civil trial, where Coretta King sued an all too willing restaurant owner for $100 for conspiring with the government to kill MLK. As the defendant didn't defend the accusations (in order to gain some notoriety and money from the newfound celebrity), the jury had no option but to find in favor of the plaintiff. The accusations were followed I up with an investigation and unsurprisingly laughed at.
Stop reading those sites. They're awful and the make things up
