I think asking this question after winning 3 out of the last 4 golds in Mens Hockey is also skewing the results compared to if you asked this question in 2002. Then again my answer would be the same.
Canada winning Gold is great but they're a contender in a tournament with 3 or 4 other teams that have a shot at winning and it lasts a week and a half. It's not that big of a deal to be honest. It's not like the FIFA World Cup where it's a grueling event that spans multiple years trying to qualify and where there a ton of teams that are capable of playing spoilers and have dramatic story lines playing out that are remembered forever.
If you asked me what I'd want more, a Flames SC win vs. a Poland/Canada world cup win, that is a much harder question for me.
To be honest, the format for International hockey blows chunks.
