He's not playing that run-n-gun neutral zone game with Mikael Backlund. It's as simple as that.

I found that worth exploring.
Blocks / Corsi Against:
5v5 2014/15: 59 / 1033 = 5.7%
PK 2014/15 23/270 = 8.5%
5v5 2015/16: 8 / 150 = 5.3%
PK 2015/16 4/54 = 7.4%
He's blocking
slightly less shots, but that's basically just sample size. If he had blocked
one more shot on the PK he would be ahead of his rate last year.

He had 85 blocks in 1125.65 minutes last year.
He has 12 blocks in 186.03 minutes this year (and the Flames are a better possession team).
He's was never blocking two or three per shift last season.
