Well, on paper the Flames should have had more opportunity for him as we've got a worse roster especially at top 6 forward. But the Blackhawks told hm he'd be playing with Patrick Kane (which he has, since day one) while we likely told him he could rot on our AHL squad and maybe get called up someday.

If the Blackhawks promised him Kane as a linemate, before he'd done anything, that was foolish and they made a dumb promise that happened to pay off. Would you have promised Sven a top 6 role?
A veteran like Potter would cost way more than Nakladl. For the same AHL/emergency call-up role.
