Hudler came to the Flames as a 50 point forward from Detroit, despite scoring being down he's on pace for 50 points. Maybe it shouldn't be too shocking, especially given that he wasn't exactly consistent with Detroit putting up 37 points in 2011, that he's on pace for 50 points. If you look at his stats, last year appears to be the anomaly as opposed to this year.
I think the idea that other players' contracts or him pouting about his role are an insult to Hudler. Potential injuries and historically inconsistency with his game seem to be the more obvious reason.
