Nashville gave up their 1st for Cody Franson and Mike Santorelli. The Blackhawks gave up their 1st for Antoine Vermette. Pittsburgh gave up their 1st for David Perron. Chris Stewart went for a (2017) 2nd.

I don't think we have enough evidence to call what sort of market there will be this year, a buyers or a sellers. This is why I'd rather Treliving leaves it and hopefully someone else dives it and sets the market. Heck, if it means leaving things until the deadline, so be it. Someone will bite for Hudler, of that I'm almost certain. Given how many teams are in the hunt for the play offs and Hudler's modest cap hit, he could help a lot of teams. Lets be patient and see what happens elsewhere before declaring him to be worth X value imo.
Yes the markets do change year to year but that is still the only way we have to determine a player's worth.

As for Vermette, Franson and Perron, I think those guys are all clearly more valuable than an older Hudler who's having a bad year.
