Buff is 30, Muzzin is 26, thats 4 years difference but we're talking a fairly big upgrade in Buff. And for WPG to move Buff, you're going to need to pony up.

I would take Muzzin @ 4m over Buff @ 7m personally. Buff is obviously better now but I really don't think he will age well, the huge body/power-types rarely do. He's probably getting 6-7 years which really clouds things for me. If they were both 26, it would be a no-brainer. Muzzin is the type of player that can be a top 3 D for another 10 years IMO.
All of this is from LA's POV btw. If it were the Flames acquiring Buff, I would be ecstatic. I would jettison many, many players to make that happen if I was Trevy. On LA though, with their contract situation? I would be pretty leery. Rental for sure, but 7-8 x 7m? No... too risky.
