Default So what would you do

Let me preface this by saying its part of a mental exercise for me.

I came up with an idea for a short story last night, its probably a story that's been done before but it brings up a interesting question.

Lets say that its the late 80's, in my story we/you hear reports on the news of a crisis in the middle east (That's where they all start), it swiftly turns into a confrontation between the Soviets and the Americans. Throughout the day the news gets worse, you hear the President making a speech that America won't back down in the face of tyranny, you hear the Soviet Premiere speak, he states that the American Capitalist aggressors will not push the Peaceful Soviet People from the rightful place in the world.

As day turns to night you keep hearing the news get worse as the world moves towards a nuclear confrontation.

You live in a small house or apartment. Your doorbell rings and you open the door and a small group of friends arrives they all have beer or liquor or whatever. If the world is going to end it might as well end with a party.

I guess my question is

What would you talk about?

What would you do?

Would you confess something that your friends didn't know?

Once the missiles launch (and in my story they launch)

What would you do with the last 30 minutes of your life.

I just thought this could be an interesting discussion for fun.
