I used to pride myself on being a "music guy" (played in a band, owns 400+ albums, etc.) but I'm completely hopeless when trying to find new music to buy/listen to.

Out of this list I think I'm looking forward to Haim and M83. I never "got" the point of Crystal Castles even though their cover of Platinum Blonde's Not in Love became a big hit. They sound terrible in everything without Robert Smith. I've heard of Viet Cong as being a local band that needs to change their name, Tegan & Sara from some remixes, MGMT from "Kids" (I bought this album and was disappointed at the entire thing), and that's it aside from some really old groups on there like Metallica (don't care), Smashing Pumpkins (I hated the 90s), and Gwen Stefani (I've got to get Love.Angel.Music.Baby on vinyl).

I will spend about $50 a week on records and I never know what to buy.
