Points are a wash, Muzzin has the favorable advanced stats, and has proven chemistry on that team.
Muzzin plays similar 5 v 5, slightly more SH, and about a minute less on the PP per game.
If you could put a package around Martinez then sure, but Muzzin is a stud d-man in his own right and you are spending $3M more on a d-man that isn't substantially better and is 4 years older.
Doughty, Muzzin, and Byfuglien would be impressive though.

Another thing to consider is quality of team that Muzzin and Buff play for.
One could argue that Muzzins stats are a bit inflated on a powerhouse team where Buffs stats are marginalized a bit by playing with the Jets. The Jets as a whole have under performed greatly this season.
I am of the opinion that this is the case, and I am not taking away from Muzzin in any way really, just thinking that the gap is greater but not easy to see with eyes only. To me and it's my thoughts only, that Buff is easily worth 3m more.
