It was unknown but also somewhat expected that Trump may not have a ground game. His support, as 538 put it the other day, is deep but narrow. I think it will come out that many who may have voted for him tonight had their dislike come to the fore when he skipped the debate and used "not treated fairly" by the media as an excuse. The cynic in me would suggest he skipped the debate to tank his chances as he was never truly serious.

Despite the apparent win by Cruz the Rubio showing may actually allow the GOP to kill both Cruz and Trump tonight. Rubio having a stronger than expected showing would seem to suggest that the establishment will finally get behind him and the endorsements will come in flurry over the next little while.
