Possibly, but as much as Star Wars has always been about the possibility of Redemption, I would like it better if in the end Ren refuses to make that journey back, and only realizes in the last minute that Snoke and the Dark Side of the Force used him.

I think there is too much reliance on the Anakin Story. Where Anakin had that spark of good in him. Palpatine was the embodiment of the Dark side.

One of the greatest descriptions that I've seen was in the revenge of the Sith book at the start of the final duel between Anakin and Obi-Wan against Dooku with Palpatines life in the balance.

Dooku could see deeply in the force and looked at his three components.

When he looked at Obi-Wan he saw a sunny field on a calm day.

When he looked at Anakin he saw a storm on the horizon, with lightning exploding through the clouds.

When he looked at Palpatine he saw a event horizon, a thing of un-imaginable power that would destroy anything around him and could basically devour the light.

I would like to see the setting switch a bit in this one.

Where Rey becomes that park.

Snoke is the lightning storm but one of immense power, and in the end Ren was the event horizon.

The other thing that I loved about the revenge of the Sith book was its description of the Dark Side of the Force and Palpatine himself in the beginning.

Where they talked about the light side being everywhere, but being unable to destroy the dark side because the darkside was hidden in plain sight, like the shadow under a bench or a shoe, or in the corner of your house, and that eventually it would grow as night came.

In the end of the book when the galaxy was left in darkness all it would take was a single spark to start driving the night or the dark back.

So what does that mean in this case?

I would like to see Snoke as the one who's redeemable, and Ren as the un-repentant Dark Sider.
