I still think JJ made a mistake in making him an emo kid. Kylo could have been a badass villain, maybe a mature villain who is basically an evil Han Solo - like his dad but without morals.

I think we are supposed to see the evolution of Ren from an emo baby to a total badass. We saw Anakin go from a child, to an emo preteen, to an emo teen, then all of a sudden we have badass super villain Vader. No in between. Ren, I believe, is going to show that in between moment.
