If the players have outgrown the NHL sized rink, what about changing to international sized ice surfaces? I've read on other sites this discussion before, but I just wonder if it would make for a better product (not that I think the game needs to change at all, well maybe the size of the goalie equipment).

I've watched the league games on International ice. Not the all star tournaments or the world tournaments, but actual league games.
The trap becomes way more prevalent, teams don't aggressively attack, its not great hockey either. Coaches are really content to clog the middle of the ice, because the shots from the outside and the point are less dangerous.
