I'd like to trade Wideman, Hudler, Raymond, and Bollig for shutdown dmen, power forwards or picks. We desperately need more young players like Smid, more guys that can play heavy in the corners and control the pace.

Asides from Smid and Bennett we don't have many guys that are happy to go into the corners and control the play with physicality. We get owned in the corners and at the blueline. We don't need stars we need players confident in their ability to gain possession and aid the team in transition.

As it is we have a bunch of two way forwards and two way dmen that can't control the pace and then games all become a Chinese fire drill. We need some moneyball management. Sell all the deadweight for what we need as we are one of the weakest teams in the league physically and in the corners.

We need more of the claustrophobic Anaheim, St. Louis kind of players that can slow the game down or speed it up instead of riding the momentum blindfolded. A prime Regehr would do wonders for this team. If we could trade Wideman for a Smid we'd instantly be way better.

Bollig and Engelland are fairly useless as they don't dictate the pace whatsoever, Engelland panics and gives it away more than he shields the puck with his back like he should, if he would just turn his back on a hit and brick wall someone instead of facing the opposition he could slow the opposition down and kill their momentum. Bollig plays like he's 160 pounds.

The other teams generate momentum on shifts where we lose confidence and start giving it away in our own zone. We need players that can stop that, players that will take the game from 100mph to a deadstop when the opposition is trying to take momentum.
