Did you even read the article. It was about bell adding a fee, and this guy ads in 'and you think they could give a seniors discount'. That has nothing to do with it. Isn't he embarassed to asking for that publicly, what happened to that pride that you hear about seniors having vast amounts of.
I am all for going to the end of the world to help people but the second that they say "should have given me more, cheapskate", is when they should get none.

So, people who need help and ask for it, shouldn't get anything? I think it took a lot of guts for him to say that publicly, so obviously it's a big deal for him. I don't think saying this makes him a cheapskate, but rather Bell for NOT giving them a discount. People will read that and start asking themselves, why don't they give discounts out for seniors? Well, those of the public that actually have a conscience and don't lump seniors and immigrants into the same category.
You know, seniors died in the wars for you, the least you could do is show them some respect.
