Boggles the mind.
This is not even close to what happened. If you read some of the details of the case the whole argument started when he disapproved of these girls plan to harass the game maker. The three girls then colluded and lied to police to falsely accuse a man of sexually harassing all of them as a pedophile, sending accusatory letters to his employer (getting him fired), getting him banned from using a computer for 3 years as a graphics designer and costing him his entire retirement in legal fees.

The prosecution and the girls also omitted tweets that showed that the girls were actually the ones harassing the guy and he was merely over aggressively defending himself. This is a case that was brought to court on the public dime based on a huge number of false accusations that cost a person his job, livelihood, reputation and savings. Its pretty damning that the case even got this far within the legal system. On top of that the aggressors can walk away scott free with no repercussions and zero cost to themselves. I hope he sues them all for libel and gets their wages garnished for a long time.

From the court summary:
Quote:
Counsel further submits that at many points during cross-examination, Ms. Guthrie asked rhetorical questions and displayed disdain for any suggestion that Mr. Elliott had ever uttered/tweeted anything valid on any subject. Ms. Guthrie’s rhetorical questions “And how is it relevant whether it was a valid point? Who cares?” confirms that – as far as Ms. Guthrie was concerned – it did not matter to her whether or not Mr. Elliott’s contributions on Twitter were valid political/philosophical comments. No matter what the content of Mr. Elliott’s tweets, Ms. Guthrie allegedly believed that his comments betrayed Mr. Elliott’s obsession with her. Counsel submit that if Ms. Guthrie truly believed that Mr. Elliott was obsessed with her, personally, such a belief -on the evidence before the Court – cannot be considered reasonable. For whatever reason, Ms. Guthrie was completely unable to view Mr. Elliott’s tweets through the lens of valid, political commentary/opposition. Any feelings of fear that Ms. Guthrie allegedly felt were the result of Ms. Guthrie’s irrational conclusion that Mr. Elliott was obsessed with her.
