In 2012, you've had a reputable party that just steered the province out of the worst economic crisis since, let's say, 1982. WRP was a brink right–wing party with no reputation at all; just a bunch of outcasts, really, disagreeing with the party drifting towards the centre. Don't kid yourself, Redford did not lose because of the airplane fiasco or the McDougall penthouse scandal. It was clearly because of her centrist tendencies. Alberta's right can't stand it for some silly reason. That's why Liberals have no chance here. You've got to be clearly left or right to be "liked" politically. Just blows my mind.
