Doubt it. I don't always agree with his decisions but I don't think coaching is the reason we are where we are.
Blame the following:
-down years from Hudler/Wideman who were key contributors last year
-injuries (Brodie early, Frolik mid)
-Giordano taking a while to get back into good form as he came back from the injury last year
-inconsistent goaltending
-terrible special teams for most of the season
-lack of secondary scoring from players like Jones, Raymond, Colborne, Backlund, Granlund, Hudler
-unlucky bounces whereas last season we got some lucky bounces
Out of those I think the coaching staff can really only take the blame for the special teams and our power play is actually really good this month.
It's been an unlucky year IMO and we have a lack of scoring depth up front. Lot's of bounces haven't gone our way. Just not our year. I wouldn't pin it on Hartley, a lot of what the coaches do is good IMO.
