Honestly, I preferred hockey when trade demands were made exclusively by proven players and you heard about one maybe once every 2-3 years. Now, it seems like you can't go 6 months without something like this. Even guys like Drouin, Baertschi and Rychel will do it now... wtf? Guys who have proven nothing but feel as though everything is owed to them. Typical millennial BS if you ask me. One day, this exact thing WILL happen to the Flames (again), and I don't think we'll see nearly as many people rushing to that kid's defense on this site as are currently defending Drouin.

Absolutely I would feel the same, especially if the team was notified of the player trade request.
It doesn't make any sense to keep a player that wants out a second longer than you need to. It's bad for the player and bad for the organization.
If Yzerman makes a deal in December, no one is saying "oh drouin only score 1 point in 7 games in the AHL" or any of this other garbage that is leading to a poor image of Drouin the player.
The poor image of Drouin the player is not raising his trade value around the league.
Does anyone think Drouin's trade value is greater today than it was on November 15th?
We don't know what deals Yzerman was being offered then, but I can pretty much guarantee you all of those previous offers are no longer on the table, whether they were poor offers or not.
Sven Baertschi wants out? You move him as quickly as possible and take what you can get.
