I can see Auston Matthews telling Canadian teams he wont play in Canada, in essence pulling a Lindros. The potential to be an American born superstar playing for an American market team would be hard to resist. I may not like it if the Flames win the lottery and he tells the Flames that he wont ever wear a Flames jersey. But I can understand that its his life and his decision.
Too many fans have this thing about the honour and privelege to play the game. Hockey is a business. I understand why the draft exists, but players still need to look out for themselves.
