When your boss is generally older (more mature) than you, acting like a petulant child is not a way to have them say, "sure thing, let me get you what you want..."
Maybe that's because I'm in my 40s now, and not a member of the ME generation?? I just can't understand actions like Drouin's...

I don't think it's true that putting your head down and working hard in bad situations always gets you where you want to go. It works for some people, and that's great, but lots of people, probably most people, need to work hard and also make moves in their careers at the right time unless they are really lucky.
Some bosses are older, and they are still bad at their job.... experience is great, but when somebody is stupid, ignorant, mean spirited, etc, they can still be a bad boss.
Lots of NHL players, have toughed it out in bad situations and just got buried. After 3 or 4 years of not making an impact at the pro level, your reputation on this circuit is seriously damaged and he's in year 2. And when your career is probably only 10-15 years long to boot, I get him making a move more quickly than somebody like you or me would in our job.
To me, he's not being petulant at all, he's made a business decision and hasn't been emotional or pouty at all. He said what he is going to do and followed through. If he was name calling in the media or something I'd have an issue with it.
