I remember when buying/leasing my first new car back in 1998, I got 1000L of free fuel with the deal.

This was long before the days of credit card style "gift" cards, so I got 25 "40L" paper certificates for Shell (had a choice of that or Petro-Can) only to be used on "regular" grade gas.

Doubt that any retailer does that any more (deal in L, as opposed to $).
