None of us know the entire story, so it's unfair to strongly pick sides. From Yzerman's perspective, he needs to do what's best for his team. He has every right to fetch what he feels is fair in a trade. I also understand Drouin's perspective. An NHL career is very short, and he needs to be given every opportunity he deserves. It's difficult to say what he deserves, but Tampa has incredible forward depth, and I find it quite possible that he would make most other NHL rosters. Unfortunately it's gotten to the point in which both sides lose. Drouin's reputation will be questioned, and he will have a shorter leash to prove himself on another team. Yzerman will not get 3rd overall value in return. If I were Yzerman, I would trade him so the Lightning can focus on more productive things.
