No it wouldn't as he has a contract to play for Tampa or their affiliate. If they tell him to report to the AHL team and he refuses he gets suspended without pay and his contract carries over for another year. Drouin is in a no win situation that is way different than Sven Baertschi was. Sven told the team he wouldn't re-sign after the season so they moved him, Drouin doesn't have that option.

Drouin may turn out to be a great player so just turn up and prove it. If he is so great he should dominate against 3-4 line players and he hasn't. When he proves it then he will get ice time, unless he goes to Edmonton.
