I seriously doubt that. No matter what happens from here forward, Drouin has become a non-NHL player who held a gun to the head of his team's management. No hockey executive is going to forget that for a long time.
Furthermore, it is becoming less and less clear as time passes whether Drouin is even good enough to play in the NHL, let alone in exchange for team assets.

I agree, but really, he can't win in this situation. If he makes a deal now, he removes any credibility as a negotiator, and sets a precedent for other young players who are dissatisfied with their team's management groups. That is just as bad an option in Yzerman's eyes.
