This is a gut punch, particularly on the heels of Bowie last week.

Saw them the night the Dome re-opened after the flood, and as usual, they were fantastic.

Really sad news. Ugh.

RIP Glen
To me there were two iconic rock songs for me when I was growing up

One was of course Star Way to Heaven which I eventually started to really hate, because of over play.

The other one was hotel California which I still turn up whenever it comes on.

I went to see them back when the band re-united them. It was the first concert that I went to where the tickets were $100.00 or over. But it was worth every penny, they were such a pure musical group.

the Eagles to me are the ultimate road trip band.

You could pop in a tape of DVD or nowdays an MPS player and the miles would just fly by.

A couple of years ago I had to go on a road trip to Grande Prarie for a football game, and it was 13 hours on the bus. I put in my head phones, put on the Eagles and watched the scenery fly by.

With the exception of Golden Earring another great road trip band, I haven't found another band or singer with that effect.
