A bit of a typo for you.
we've been without Kipper for 3 years, and for his entire tenure here he was one of the best. The team did a poor job grooming/finding a replacement, but there are few (if any) goalies in the league that people would take over Kipper in his prime. So in "that timespan" we had one of the best.
It's the aftermath that hurts us, and it was always going to hurt us. We won't see a goalie like Kipper for a long time, maybe ever. People need to get used to it.
That doesn't mean we won't get a decent starter, and I'm high on Gillies, but Kipper was largely in a class of his own.
