He shouldn't see much playing time behind Rivers. If Rivers was good enough that the Charges let Brees go (I know, shoulder injury, but that hasn't slowed Brees down so far), and Rivers hasn't looked out of place at all, so I can't see Volek seeing the field for anything other than an injury replacement.

With the defence the Chargers have, it's a very basic offence that Rivers has to run, give the ball to Tomlinson 25-30 times, short passing routes etc...Volek will be strictly backup unless injuries happen, something funny must have gone on behind the scenes for him to fall out of favour that fast in Tennessee, as the plan was for Young to apprentice for a year anyway. Boy it sure didn't take long for the Titans to freefall due to cap hell.
