Tough contract for any team to swallow, but the Kings were damned if they did, damned if they didn't.
I would bet there would be a few teams offering that deal in the off-season (though 7 years instead of 8 of course). He is 'worth it', but I do agree it is a handcuffing-type of deal organizationally. Forces a team to scrutinize their player management that much more, and places even more importance on ensuring they draft well and have good players coming up on cheaper contracts.
