Imagine this, imagine that... So what man? It happened. Was it good back then? optically no. But that doesn't mean that present day results are discarded to conveniently suit an argument either.
You neglect to understand that at the end of the day, Getting Phaneuf off of the Flames roster was by the biggest win that trade produced. I never cared about the return. And in all honesty, Stajan was a good piece to get back as the C depth was as always weaker than crap back then.
I was elated Phaneuf was gone, more excited than when Bourque got traded away or Glencross. Addition by subtraction.
