I'm nothing more than a recreational, fairweather cyclist, but I am always impressed by the year-round cyclists. There are a tonne of flashing red tail lights on the path along Parkdale/Memorial each morning, even when it is extremely cold and/or snowy. Obviously some hang up the bike for the winter, but there are more winter warriors than I realized.

After 13 years of cycling to work, this is my first year winter commuting, I used to think all those people were crazy. I got some studded tires, and haven't had a problem with slipping. It's actually warmer at -10 to cycle than stand around waiting for the bus. I'll probably bus colder than -15, but it hasn't happened yet. For any 3 seasoner's give it a try, it ain't so bad! I just dress like I would going cross country skiing.
