The problem is that they closed the loophole
after the result was decided.
If there is a set of rules that everyone is asked to play by, you don't get to retroactively change said rules if you don't like the result.
Had they done it before or during the vote, problem solved. But they chose not to. They earned this result. They should accept it and move on.
(Like I said though, I suspect John Scott gets a contract extension out of this if he goes away quietly)
