I suspect the league might have had a little hand in this, and I wouldn't be surprised if the end result was adding an extra player to each team (except the Atlantic). They can get an actual Coyote in and Crosby. I always though 9 players for a 20 minute period seemed like it might be a little too much for the players, this would mean that every now and then a player would get a rest, and that they could actually play with the combinations a bit.
