Fabri for Drouin may go down but the Stamkos-Backes suggestion is completely out to lunch.
Let's offer Bennett+Hudler if that is all it takes to get both Stamkos and Drouin

Fair. I guess I never really looked at it from the Bennett/Hudler aspect.

I guess the term (Barrel/Shotgun) is a bit extreme. But I was thinking that since Stamkos contract talks arent happening, Drouin demanding a trade and the deadline looming may be put Yzerman in a uncomfortable situation. Perhaps maybe realizes that the desired return for Drouin isnt going to be what he had initially hoped, is all.
EDIT: before i read the last couple posts I was thinking about if there was an add on STL's part and if that add would be Rattie. It doesnt solve the Backes age but it gives Tampa some sort of gauranteed retention on 2 decent players for the future. But then thought it does the exact opposite for STL so why would they agree to that... I dont know..
