It certainly is filmed and presented in a way that puts Avery in a good light. I feel that the film makers consider him not guilty/innocent. It really comes across as an opinion piece and not a documentary.
That being said I am enjoying it, and what foresight to think of filming this over 10 years. Brilliant.

It is an opinion piece. At its core anyways. But I found that the opinion was that Justice was not done rather than any opinion on Avery's innocence.
Take Avery out of the equation, was this a miscarriage of justice? Was it a fair trial?
