I don't think I am really off at all. My point about LA was that they didn't accept the last year result as a "point of rebuild" and continued being a contender. My other point about long-term is that in the environment where players (assets) reaching point of maturation and useful life a lot sooner, only long-term investment strategy is not that justifiable. By the time some of your assets mature, you may not have enough money to re-sign them, their career might end unexpectedly, their production levels could change drastically etc. There are still lots of risks that, as a GM, you cannot reliably predict. So, short-term investing strategy must not be omitted entirely.
