With pending UFAs that could be moved out, I don't see immediate upgrades coming to their positions if they do go. Nonetheless, if someone's not a key part of the long-term plans then they should be moved out to make space for someone younger. The team has made most of its progress through young players who have progressed and stepped up as a result of space on the Flames' roster. That needs to keep going.
Johnny, Monahan, Hamilton, Bennett are all still really young key pieces, but they're also not rookies anymore. They should be getting relied upon while more spaces are opened up for fresh faces.
I'd like to see the UFAs moved, maybe one UFA signed in the summer and some more roster spots turned over to young players.
