Exactly. And this is the issue.
He isn't good enough to be a 1 or 2 center on a playoff team. He isn't a good enought/role enough #3 center for a playoff team.
He does nothing above average. He isn't big, isn't physical, can't win face-offs, isn't a shutdown C, doesn't kill penalties well.
It doesn't mean he is bad at these things. He is just average at them all. And that's an issue if you aren't scoring center.
