He may develope the offence to be a 2nd liner but he could also follow the Backlund path and just end up a great two-way 3rd line type.
I've liked what I've seen of him. He's cheaper than Backlund and could have a higher offensive upside. So it allows Treliving to deal Backlund or Granlund in a package before next season.
It's nice to have expendable assets that might actually have value. With Backlund/Granlund + Engelleand/Smid/Wideman/Russell + our prospects and picks Treliving certainly has some assets to make things happen at the deadline and leading up to the draft.
