If Bennett came out and said I don't want to play in Calgary the team is likely forced to make a bad trade. Who wants someone in the organization that wants out. If they are not all in for the Flames then go elsewhere. Also your deal is not equivalent because Tampa sends the much worse contract in Carle than the Flames send in Raymond. $5.5M for 2 more years after this than $3.15 for one more year.
