I don't think brands matter, if the "look" matches. I know that serious cooking people prefer gas, but the majority of people aren't that serious and wouldn't care. I prefer electric because I'm always afraid I'm going to blow something up with gas.
I would stay away from induction unless you really want it and will enjoy it for many years. That could be an annoyance factor for future buyers, if they don't have the proper cookware for it.
Do they still do brushed steel? That could be a way to avoid the fingerprint issue.
