Ferland doesn't have the hype or draft status behind him but every team would love to have him. There's a reason why another team's GM called him the best player in the AHL last year.

He's basically the only player in this organization that can be a power forward. His skill set is rare in the NHL nowadays. He skates, hits, forchecks, has decent hands and non-stop motor.

Now, should you trade Ferland for Drouin? an easy answer would be of course yes but for the Flames you should look at different options. The Lightning would want more then him anyways. Do you give up Ferland + whatever else it takes to add another small forward?

My point is Ferland + whatever else you may have to give up to get Drouin might not be worth it.

He is practising with the top line today so we'll see if he can take the next step.
