I don't see the point in comparing athletes from different eras like that. Yeah, goalies weren't as athletic or well-trained as they are today. Nobody was. There are sprinters today at obscure U.S. colleges who run faster than Jesse Owens did when he won gold at the Olympics. Doesn't make Jesse Owens a useless slug. If Owens had the same training regimen and coaching that today's sprinters have, he would have been faster.

I agree with all of this. It doesn't change the fact that the goalies back then were laughably bad. It's more from a humorous perspective - the moves they make to try and stop pucks are hilarious. They come like 15 feet out of their crease haha
