With respect to coaching:
Positives- the coaching on this team seem very good with young players, motivating, staying positive, actually developing and making them better.
Negatives- the group seem reluctant to adapt. It's now obvious to me (and if it's obvious to fans......) that the way to beat the Flames is to slow the game down, play a nice neutral zone trap and force the Flames to dump it in because they rarely retrieve it and if they do, they struggle to keep it in the zone and sustain pressure. If teams don't clog up the neutral zone, the Flames activated defencemen create plays and become all of a sudden offensive threat. To me anytime Calgary plays a sound defensively minded team they get torn to shreds. But the most concerning thing is the fact that the coaching staff a) either can't figure this out or b) don't know how to adapt- which is brutal.

Monahan-
I know he got a point tonight and I know this season he is on pace for close to what he got last year, but he just isn't doing it for me this year. He is embarrassingly soft for a guy his size, like he's afraid to get injured and miss that big contract. It's garbage and quite frankly, he needs to pull his head out of his ass.

Wideman, not as bad, not even close to as bad, as what everyone on this site thinks. At the end of the game, he held the puck in the zone 3 times. He is an offensive defenceman, and I think he's effective at that, but poor defensively. But- his partner should be covering for him as well and as mentioned, his partner was not good tonight.
